Re: Speakers that want more gigs

1. I've been listed on the GWA listing since its inception - to my knowledge I have not gotten a single gig from that listing. When you google "speaker gardening" it comes up on the first page.

2. My own website brings me the most out-of-the-blue (or in from the cold) gigs. Most of my other gigs come from: A. Other speakers who have heard me speak. B. Two ads that I regularly place in the Massachusetts Federated Garden Clubs publication - The Mayflower. Garden clubs refer to this when they plan their programs for the coming year. C. People who hear me speak somewhere else and then ask if I would talk to their group. D. The marketing materials I send out.

3. My suggestion is to do your workshop as a two-parter. The first one would be the demo as you've done recently. Then at the end of that one you sign people up to make one of their own in a second workshop on another day. (Have them pay when they register so your materials are covered whether they show up or not.)

  all the best,
C.L.
