Question About Google's Picasa Software

Hi!

I'm getting overwhelmed with my photo inventory and spend what I think are inordinate amounts of time (even while waiting for spring!) finding the shots I need for the PowerPoint talks I give. In looking at the various photo organizing software options available, I'd appreciate any commentary/experience anyone has with Google's Picasa.  

I'm trying to keep the expense on this down so free is a very appealing price.
