Permit me to wax philosophical. What is the meaning of the ?verb "to
text?" Can it only be done on cell phones? Must one always abbreviate?
How is a Blackberry like a writing desk? Isn't a Blackberry both a
computer and a phone? If Blackberries are computers and one can "text" on
them, why can one not "text" on a machine that is only a computer? What
are we doing here? On this list?

If we are writing, or abbreviating, or posting, then why do we need this
new verb that is a noun?

If "to text" actually means "to communicate" then what has a textor
(?texter) communicated to one who cannot (or chooses not) to read such
messages? 

Don't text me, PLEASE.
