money from blogs
To all:
I think I started this thread all along, but can't for the life of me find its genesis. Or a substantial response to my initial question: I apologize; or maybe -- because most of you are in the Snow Belt (it will be 82 here tomorrow and I won't even hint how the garden is burgeoning now) I am not a computer guru like Doug. I am a gardener who knows words. I am an expert in Florida 8b, which is this odd 50-mile NW/SW swath between Fernandina Beach and Cedar Key. Think Yulee Railroad and you've got it. We are were oranges went to die.
I was laid off from our local newspaper after 35 years (I did more than gardening columns; I was a news editor) and am now doing here-and-there freelancing while whittling down my 401K. I am not an ad-salesperson; however I have presence in this area of North Central Florida after all these years and all the private nurseries know and respect me. Do I have to hire someone?
I am not Extension, so am not hampered/hindered by any constraints. I am largely organic but bow to soft chemicals (which I have yet had to use) if readers want them.
Do I just start a blog (OK, OCR my 35years of columns on a daily basis?) or what? And then wait for people who want to buy into it? I hate to think all this head-movie stuff will go to waste.
Oh, I have photos, too.
Personal help is appreciated. I was GWAA from 1982 until I couldn't afford it at 2000; now a lurker.
And Jeff, I found two people who bought your google-eye monoscopes, and they love them.
More later on Plant a Row. We need it now.
