I understand the legislative process.

I give the public a little more credit than that. Generalizations sometimes
lead to stereotyping.

congress people and senators are discussing and considering."

I agree 100%. Let it be known that I am not anti-education. Folks should be
knowledgeable about government proceedings. Unfortunately though, sometimes
the word gets out rather harshly. This is what I mean by "alarmist."

"And it is always a good idea to express dismay. . . ."

Again, I agree. However, using the voice of doom to raise awareness is not
my preferred method of expression.
