Re: metal containers
They're very stylish but get too hot in many areas. Use on the west or NW side of a home then the hard afternoon rays are less of a problem. The other option is to double pot with a nursery pot or smart pot holding the plant and a little excelsior or moss holding it in place and insulating from heat.
