Re: Demand Media

I did some writing for them a year or so ago. The problem is that they are very, VERY picky about style and references. You can't write articles just based on what you know as an experienced gardener and garden writer. You have list references for everything--that takes time. And almost every article I wrote got turned back to me for a re-write. Given that, my hourly rate plummeted. It just wasn't worth it. The other problem is that the article titles that you can choose from are sometimes obviously created by non-gardeners--either extremely specific or just off-the-wall. It just ends up being a huge time-suck.
