Yes, Ball horticulture hosted a webinar a few weeks ago with one of the
speakers stating that this tag was in place. It was mentioned that consumers
perceived that this was a "value added" tag like getting free fertilizer
with the plant.
We have much information to get out to the public. There are two sides to
this controversy, the growers dilemma and the consumers vote by way of
spending habits for or against protection of the bees.
Bottom line is YES neonics DO kill bees. No one is disputing that fact. So
what do we want to do about it? What's the next step? I like the action that
Nicholas Staddon mentioned was taking place in the UK. Withdraw the use and
monitor further studies.
