Re: natural repellents to stinging insects

I do NOT recommend this, but years ago, when I smoked, none of these flying critters would come near me! I quit smoking and, guess what? You're right, I'm just as delicious to these critters now as everyone else is. Guess they didn't like the smell of tobacco smoke!

I do make one recommendation, however. Don't wear anything containing perfume into the garden, including hairspray and deodorant. Insects are attracted to the perfume. For the summer, I switch to products with no perfume.
