OT - editing scholastic papers

I've been asked to do some editing of scholastic papers by an ESL 
student.  I did one for him as a favour and he now wants to pay me for this 
editing on an ongoing basis.

Anybody have any experience with payment rates for this kind of thing.

I could say it was gardening related papers but that might be stretching it 
- thanks for your patience with this ot topic yet alternate source of 
income for this garden writer. :-)
