Re: Butterfly houses

Title: Re: [GWL] Butterfly houses

Does anyone know anything about butterfly houses? Are they totally ridiculous or are they worth putting up? Are there any precautions one should take with them regarding types of wood, finishes, and so on?

From my experience, installing plants that butterflies and caterpillars feed on  will do the trick, no houses needed -- and besides, have you ever seen where  butterflies "live?" Not in nests, not in trees....  makes you wonder why they need a wooden house...
