Hi Carol,

One of my favourite gardens in London is the Kensington Roof Garden. It's on
Kensington High Street above the Bhs building. It's best to call ahead to
confirm that they'll be open (it's rented out often for private functions) --
the number is 0171 937 7994. While in the neighbourhood, Kensington Gardens are
also worth a visit.

For a wonderful afternoon outing, drift up the Thames and hop aboard the boat
that goes to Kew. Walk into the town opposite the gardens on the other side of
the river and ask for directions to Chiswick House -- a great estate with a
stunning vintage greenhouse.

There's a wonderful book called Walking London's Parks and Gardens that you
might want to buy -- I picked it up in London, but you may be able to order it
online.
