There is a Canadian consortium made up of landscape architects, landscape materials suppliers, and a nursery among others called Green Roofs for a Healthy City.  Their website at www.greenroofs.ca is an excellent source of information.  By the way, if anyone is in Toronto you might want to check out the 3200 sq. ft. demonstration roof garden at City Hall.
