Too many potential gardeners are deprived of the
joys and comforts of gardening by garden writers
and instructors who have turned the hobby into something akin to
rocket science. As an avid gardener myself, I am mystified when I hear
fellow gardeners talk about the toil and time they invest unnecessarily. I
wonder why anyone double digs, turns a compost pile, spends hours
weeding, or annihilates multitudes of beneficial insects while
pursuing a few villains.
We need to be talking about pleasure and
fulfillment, not torture and boredom. Life is short. Where is
the joy?
I have just published a book that talks a lot about
joy and having a gloriously lush and bountiful garden without dedicating
your life to the process. It is called Earthly Delights: Gardening by
the Seasons the Easy Way (Taylor Trade Publishing, 2004)
If this sounds like a book you would like to review or introduce to your
readers, contact Tracy Miracle, Publicist - Taylor Trade Publishing
