Hi Doreen,
The questions I get are seasonal. Right now- where
do I get the stuff to kill my grubs and weeds and crabgrass- preferably all in
one bag. Those are titch depressing.
Most of the good questions, the ones I really enjoy
working on, are the "How do I ...." I sure learn a lot researching
them.
Re limited space. When doing a "teaching" or
informative bit I try to hit at least 2 of the 3 groups (beginner, almost
comfortable in the gardening, confident ). I get 15 column inches in the paper.
At least one or two paragraphs can be fairly technical without losing the
newbies. And if it does happen, they know that next week, I'll aim for the other
half of the 2 out of 3.
Re "yardening". I shamelessly use that term in
talks, slide shows, bus captain trips ( where we almost always show the video).
I feel Jeff has given us communicator types a nifty, non-threatening term for
folks that are being introduced gardening.
And I always give Jeff credit.
