RE: Most Frequent Questions
I had someone at the winery last weekend confess that when she was a
child, she wouldn't eat her grandmother's rhubarb pie because she knew
that it grew in the ground and thought the dog might have peed on it.
<grin> She was tasting strawberry rhubarb wine so she either got over
it or felt that the alcohol made it safe.
My writing/speaking is very focused on gardens in France so I'm not sure
that my FAQs add much to this thread. Most of them are from people who
are taking notes and want to write down a complicated French name, so I
put them on my web site. And FWIW, my most frequently repeated question
at the winery (which is an agricultural operation and has a big
selection of fruit wines) is "what is an elderberry?"

Perhaps of greater importance is the question, why don't people grow
food
crops? I've heard young adults say "Ech, I don't want something that
grows
in dirt. I'll get mine from the supermarket." Or "I don't like soft
tomatoes. They're mushy and they have too much taste." Is ConAgra
winning? Will it prevail so that 100% of food is grown or fed by that
organization?
