Hi, Catriona --
    When I wrote an article about an Alaska garden for Meredith, I
discovered that many varieties of primroses grow well in Anchorage. Nursery
owner Sally Arant has written and self-published "An Alaskan Primrose
Primer." One of her recommendations, Tibetan cowslip (P. florindae), is
exceptionally fragrant (smells like nutmeg). For more info: Sally Arant, In
