Re: Containers

As to 'Oriental Limelight' mine has succumbed to the bulk of plants around it.  Without adequate sunlight, this thug becomes weak and pitiful.  It is overwhelms a garden, there must be too much soil showing to be a 'proper' garden!!

you're absolutely right about 'Oriental Limelight' in both regards: Asian Invasion would be a more accurate name, AND it's a great container plant.
We've had excellent results with various forms of Lamium in containers, and also Muehlenbeckia axillaris, which spills and trails nicely over the edges.

Melanie - Artemisia 'Limelight'  - a horribly invasive thug  in the garden
is stunning in containers when paired with burgundy foliage such
Alternanthera. I over wintered the Limelight in a holding bed and replanted
it in the containers this spring. The Alternanthera overwinters well in the
house and is a snap to propagate from cuttings.
