Re: plectranthus argentus
With no interesting dahlias on the retail racks this spring, I went to my
first dahlia auction. And I will most definitely go again next year. There
is a large selection, you can see and handle the tuber you want to bid on,
and prices are usually below retail. Many tubers were going for a buck or
two, and seven dollars was the top price than night, and that for a real
rarity. Plus I got to meet a great group of people who educated me about
dahlias.
There are dahlia auctions all over the country, run by local or regional
dahlia societies. The American Dahlia Society website at www.dahlias.org,
has a complete listing of all the auctions.
