The only thing that would make me give up my membership in GWA is death or
exorbitant taxes.  Long after I give up my day job here at Garden Design and
my many ties to the Green industry through association membership, I will
continue to belong to this great organization of friends, mentors and
horticultural gurus.  I feel that this group has allowed me to stand on the
shoulders of giants.  So many people have so much information and so many
more contacts that $85.00 a year is a mere pittance in comparison to its
returns.  The price of admission to the annual symposium is ultimately
cheaper than a weekend with a show in New York City.  God knows that I love
to visit New York, but I absolutely need the GWA symposium to exist!  Where
could you get the return on investment to compare with the civilities of
hob-nobbing with the Duponts at Longwood or the heirs of the Rosenbergers at
Chanticleer.  The private garden tours are reason enough to belong and
participate.

It's also been an absolute delight to belong to the board for the last seven
years and also help with the arrangements for the Philly Flower Show for the
last five years!  Where could anyone get to meet the many great movers and
shakers in this great wonderful green world!

A writer of my acquaintance, who chose not to renew membership in GWA, was
curious to know how many people on this list were GWA members, and if any
were former GWA members. She didn't feel she was getting value for the dues.
