Re: Fw: garden columns

I'll chime in with my fee for a glossy regional magazine for which I've
written a column for 14 years. At first it was monthly, then bimonthly, and
now quarterly. There have been two owners and three editors. My pay went
from $250 (for 2000 words and a photo) to $350 (for 900 words max and a
photo). For me the pay scale works out because I retain copyright to the
columns and have re-sold some and put others on my website. Fran used a
couple of them for her newsletters in exchange for book ads for me. I think
about publishing my selected columns as a book but over the years the chatty
style had to give way to a zippy one.
