What do you do about requests for fee-free talks?

I would appreciate your collective advice and wisdom.

I have given dozens of talks this last year and am being asked to do
many more in the coming months. As delighted as I am to be in such
demand, I am struggling with what to do when I am asked to speak for
no fee.

The majority of the time, I am offered a speaker's fee but on
occasion, I receive a request from an organization or group that has
no budget. As much as I would like to accommodate everyone, I simply
can't afford to speak for free.

But how to say it politely?

Any suggestions?

Nan
