Re: Deer Damage
Nancy,
Depends on the hosta. I have one in my side yard, near a tree, that has
been mowed down by deer about this time of year every year for the past 20
years -- and it still comes back. Some others (the more expensive ones,
naturally!) didn't come back when I forgot to spray after only one year.
I've dug them all the expensive ones up and use them now in pots as porch
plants on my shady porch.

Deer ravaged my shade garden last night and my hosta have been reduced
to stalks. If I cut them back to the ground will they regenerate? Rain
and a busy schedule kept me from treating new growth with Plant Skydd
and I took a heavy hit.
