New Guinea impatiens

I have a question about the genetics of New Guinea impatiens. I queried
Beltsville and got a reply back that my message was forwarded to someone who
knew something, but no answers yet.

Here's my question. There are scarlet New Guinea impatiens and there are
very dark leafed New Guinea impatiens but there are not scarlet dark leafed
New Guinea impatiens. I think they would be striking. I assume there is some
problem with the genetics of the crosses. Does anyone know anything about
this? Or know of anybody who would?
