Re: New Guinea impatiens

Duane,
Someone at Ecke could probably answer your question. Their Pure Beauty and Paradise series have some pretty cool dark foliage, but I don't recall if there's one with the specific combination you're seeking.
Years ago (late 60s/70s), some breeding was done at Longwood Gardens; I think they produced the old Circus series with names like Ringmaster, Trapeze and Clown. And Ed Mikkelsen had a lot of varieties; I think he's with Ogilvie now.

Subject: [GWL] New Guinea impatiens

I have a question about the genetics of New Guinea impatiens. I queried
eltsville and got a reply back that my message was forwarded to someone who
new something, but no answers yet.
Here's my question. There are scarlet New Guinea impatiens and there are
ery dark leafed New Guinea impatiens but there are not scarlet dark leafed
ew Guinea impatiens. I think they would be striking. I assume there is some
roblem with the genetics of the crosses. Does anyone know anything about
his? Or know of anybody who would?
