Help With Picasa

Hi, All!

Hi, All!

I finally put my photos on Picasa and woke up the morning after I ran this migration to discover those files now exist in a practically unusable condition. Two problems popped up.

Although filed into named folders and captioned with botanical plant names, etc., both file names and captions were lost in the migration. Picasa has indexed all photos by year so Julia Child, a David Austin rose that was in a file with other roses (so named) is now in a 2009 file, the year that I took the photo. And of course, I rarely need to search by year, but by plant name or other subject area.

I've been playing with Picasa for a few days and haven't found a way out. Can anyone advise me how to reorder and/or re-run the migration to get my files replicated in Picasa as I had them sorted/filed on my hard drive? Or is external storage the only way to go?

Thanks!
