Re: Help With Picasa
Hi, Daryl!
I just uploaded the files to Picasa. So now when I'm needing a good photo of a caladium, for example (not having a specific one in mind in this case) I have to search through multiple years 'cause that's how Picasa sorted them. Who remembers when I took what photo? Before, they were all in a file named "Caladium" which was a sub file of another named "Annuals."
What I wanted to do was free up space on my hard drive without putting photos on CDs, etc. It's better for me to be able to cruise the files when I need to look them over without having to upload, etc.
Not what I expected and certainly not what I wanted. Doesn't sound like I can have my cake and eat it too.

Hi Lorraine,
Picassa doesn't move your files or folders, it just indexes them. When I
want to search on something by botanical name, I just enter it into the
search field and it pulls up any photo with that name, no matter what folder
it's in. You can still locate anything on your hard drive just as you did
before.
I'm not sure what you meant by "migration" - do you mean that you uploaded
them to a Picassa album in the sky? If not, and you just installed Picassa
and let it index for you, they're all where they were yesterday.
