Re: Bad mother
Robins are among the most bird-brained of our avian neighbors, ranking right down there with doves when it comes to choosing real estate. Each spring I have to monitor my porch light lest the process get too far along with one of those species. I've had success with placing a canoe bailer on the light; it's just the right size to stay on, and gives them no place to land. So far only one neighbor has asked why I stuck a windshield washer fluid bottle with the bottom cut out on the fixture.
Cardinals also attack their own reflections, but robins do seem more stubborn about it.
Subject: Re: [GWL] Bad mother
Our robin made her nest on the very precarious frame and backlight of a
tained glass window that we have hanging on the front porch. Like Geri,
e are now walking around the house to enter by the back door. It has
ctually helped us to see our garden differently!
Regards,
