Hmm, if by 'Canada is very weird on these things" you mean that it took 7 years to clear all the hurdles, then I'd suggest it might be faster but not less investigative.
If you're suggesting it's weird because we restrict things, then I'd disagree. For example, salt is a known killer of invertebrates and there's a restriction on using salt in or near wetlands for that reason. In Canada, that was deemed important but it was not deemed important in the US apparently. Maybe your invertebrates are tougher? ;-) Is that what you mean by weird?
If you're suggesting the organization of the Canadian system run by government employees and scientists is weird, then I'd simply invite you to compare it to that of the USDA and EPA where the decision makers are political appointees.
Is either system perfect? Not by a long shot, but I'm not sure it's fair to call it weird. It's different than the US system and for that, quite frankly, I'm grateful.

The labelling says
Sodium chloride: basic table salt
Potassium chloride is essentially Muriate of Potash and is a fertilizer
Sodium bicarbonate or baking soda
Potassium carbonate is salt of tartar - strongly alkaline it is used in industrial processes but is probably being used here to soften the water.
So not sure which of these is used in cattle feed but not important.
And still not clear on the spreader sticker.
As for my questioning - a very long time ago, I had an interesting lesson with an "organic" product and have been a questioner of them ever since. Somebody says, "This is harmless" and a red flag goes up. In this case, it comes up on the wetland issue and invertebrates. Not sure how it impacts on your soil biology either for that matter. Gotta be some impact in the top layers.
For now, the jury remains out on this material in my opinion.
