Hello Mary,
I have had great success using the Mini Dragon propane torch in both my garden and on clients gardens.
Initially, I purchased the higher BTU torch with the dolly for the propane cylinder that is about the size of the average gas grill cylinder. I found the dolly difficult to maneuver on rough ground. I didn't try the back pack option because the 10 lb cylinders aren't readily available in my area and refilling was inconvenient.
I priced them online through Flame Engineering and Amazon. The 1lb cylinders are affordable (about $1.99-2.99) and available at big box stores like Walmart and Home Depot.
The mini dragon has all the power I need to do large and small properties. You don't have to bend over to reach weeds. Its very lightweight and won't contribute to back problems. I find that its also easy to carry around a small metal shovel to place near plants that I want to protect from the flame while torching nearby weeds.
Its made weeding something I look forward to...fun with flames!
Signed,
Pyro Phyllis
