Re: Garden flame weeder

We have dug out the big tubers - the size of a kid's backpack and solid
which is what keeps it going and protected from pesticides. I have threatened
to use the flame thing but we have lots of trees and that concerns me. I
may yet try it on open areas which this thing likes. BTW there was news
report a while back and some Long Island nurseries are selling Japanese
Knotweed!!!!

I use the Red Dragon backpack flame weeder. I had an infestation of
Japanese
Knotweed on a property here, and I mowed it to death. I set the mower to
the
lowest level and scalped it, over and over, every time it appeared. After
two years, I wore it out! The tubers store energy, like a battery, and by
forcing it to keep using that energy but not recharge by photosynthesis I
beat it.
