I voiced my opinion about 2-4-D in a Facebook conversation recently. A
southern US area representative for Monsanto replied with sarcasm ,
claimed to be a scientist and threw around a lot of technical terms about
how 2-4-D was harmless because...bla...bla...bla, etc ad infinitum.
He doesn't want to lose company sales from people becoming environmentally
and health aware and avoiding their products so they go out of their way to
try and neutralize "inconvenient" publicity and social media discussion.
In a previous discussion following one of his you tube ag propaganda videos
I encountered
several of his associates who leveled sarcastic broadsides in my direction
while displaying mind numbing ignorance. The video was supposed to show the
benefits
of proper nematode treatment in peanuts using one or more of their chemical
products. I never saw a sorrier looking farm field with almost non existent
crops.
It was a disgrace to American agriculture. I can imagine what Louis
Bromfield would have to say. We need more local, natural, independent small
farmers.
