Title: Fruit Breeding.
I just posted Dr. Roger Way's apple picture of 381 seedlings of his cross of Monroe & N.Y. 18491 to http://www.hort.net/lists/gwlphotos/. A friend sent it to me. It's an excellent example of the kind of variation a seedling population can produce, especially with very good parents. Of course it doesn't show variations in the plant, fruit quality, and such, but it's a good visual image of what can come of plant breeding. -Lon Grapes, writing, consulting, more, plus word on my grape book at http://www.bunchgrapes.com ============================================================ Proflowers - Get a FREE glass vase ($9.99 value!) when you send one dozen Autumn Roses for just $29.99!
