[GWL]: GWAA meeting

I may be about to open up a huge can of worms here, and I hope I live
through it.
 I feel it's important enough to do this, though, as it seems to strike the
heart of this list.  Please let's keep this cool, though.  

Doreen Howard told me that she asked Bob LaGasse if she could mention
something about the GWL at the business meeting.  He said no, because we
are not part of GWAA.  
    This seems unfair as there has already been material in the Quill &
Trowel that looked very much like it was written from material about
business failures in response to our
long exchange on the subject.   Additionally,  a number of GWL members went
on 
 to join the GWAA,  after hearing about it on the list.
    I started this list as an aid to gardenwriters because the GWAA didn't
have such a list and wouldn't start one.  I acknowledged the GWAA in the
invitation and said the list, while not officially affiliated with the GWAA,
was meant primarily as a communication tool for the members of that group,
in addition to non GWAA members.
       Why it would hurt the GWAA to acknowledge the GWL?
