I consider the first section "Copyright Basics" essential reading for 
all professional writers.

>From this site you can download forms for copyrights, read all relevant 
instructions, and answer most basic questions about what copyrights are 
and how they work.  There are other sections that give you news on new 
or pending law, international law, complete texts of all U.S. law (if 
you want to get into it that far), and much else.  

Just the section Copyright Basics will give you more than most writers 
and editors know about the subject, and it is definitive as well as 
quite readable.
