Thanks for the tip on
Fateful Harvest. Sounds well worth reading. Things like this are reminders of
why it makes sense to save the leaves we rake up and to use them for mulch. It
also is a good reminder of why it makes such complete sense to have a compost
heap.
Last year I
re-read Silent Spring. I'd first read it in the early 70's. I was shocked, no,
surprised, sort of,--to see how little had actually changed for the better since
Rachel Carson wrote that gem.
