I don't know if Lon's crashing could be due to a virus, but I DO KNOW that
Fran
is absolutely correct. DON'T OPEN ANY e-mail attachments that have no
text in the message, even if you recognize the sender. I made that fatal
mistake
and paid dearly.
The virus is W32.Badtrans.B.and it first surfaced on 11/24. Symantec
states
that it's incidence of infection is high, but level of damage is low.
However,
in my case, the damage was anything but low! And either because I got
clobbered
just hours after it first surfaced, or due to some burp in the system, my
anti virus
security proved to be useless.
Based on my experience, take this one seriously!
