This was a prime example of something that we really need to watch.  Lots of the list members are guilty of it, so don't any one person take this personally.  
   First, the comment added nothing to the list.  It should have been made OFFLIST.
   Second, the ENTIRE digest was included in the letter.  That's going to add a real clog to the archives, and I CAN'T DELETE OR EDIT OUT MATERIAL FROM THE IBIBLIO ARCHIVES.  
   So PLEASE think about that old noise to content ratio, and EDIT the excess stuff off your postings.
