Notice, Andrew, that you are making an assumption that seems to be logical. But is it?

I lived up there in the '60s and '70s when the leaf burning issue became a hot number, and all the bans started going into place. I can't recall that anybody had actually tested anything, though. It was just an assumption that burning leaves contributed to air pollution.

Plus, of course, it was an accomplishment the polititions could toss to the conservation lobby, to show how they really cared. Hmmmm? Am I just being cynical?
