There is lots of stuff on the web about leaf burning. Just try
"leaf burning." If you want to know more about what people object to, in my
first try, I found this: "Burning of leaves and brush contains high
concentration of pollutants such as carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen,
fine particles and various organic compounds which contribute to unhealthy
air pollution."
