RE: Leaf burning issue

For you youngins out there too young to have lived in the wild and hairy
sixties and early seventies, another issue arose at the same time as did
burning leaves. That was when we experience the oil shortage and wood
stoves became the rage, me being one of the folks who used a wood stove
right in the middle of the suburbs. Now we are talking about serious
pollution potential as well as bad smells. Of course the wood stove era
declined as fuel costs came down, but when you combined the leaf burning and
the wood stoves with lousy chimneys and owners who didn't know how to run a
wood stove, the smoke and smell could be serious. I never yearn for that
smell of leaf smoke, but I do miss the smell of wood smoke from time to
time.
