Most newspapers use some form of AP style, which they adjust according to their particular needs and culture.
I'm not sure what would be included in a GWA stylebook that would be remarkably different than what we already know. I think it's pretty clear how we should refer to plants...what's capitalized, what's in Italics, etc.
In my case, it took several years to convince The Indianapolis Starto list cultivar names, then to put them in Italics and to use single quotes on cultivars rather than double quotes or no quotes....if only I could get them to stop referring to cultivar names as nicknames, as they did in a huge graphic last Saturday.
I should think that we GWA members and non-members would be better served in encouraging all publications to list botanical names the standard way.
