This sounds very similar to the patent claims by PanIP, LLC.

Similar to the divine lawsuit, many of the companies targeted by PanIP
settled because they didn't have the resources to challenge such a claim.
One company decided to take the offense and started a Web site in an
offensive move against PanIP.

I'd strongly recommend teaming up with the folks at youmaybenext.com;
if nothing else, they can offer advice on ground that they've already
covered.
Is there an 'official' page anywhere that I can link to about Johnny's
situation?
