Re: Ohio Private garden
Sandie,
Go the site for the American Hemerocallis Society at www.daylilies.org
Click onto AHS Display Gardens, then click on region 2 (which covers Ohio
gardens). You will find a long list of private gardens registered as Display
Gardens with the American Hemerocallis Society.
Daylily people are collectors by nature, many also collect Hosta and are
registered Hosta Display Gardens. June is a little early for daylilies but
you should be able to find a wonderful garden that collects many plant
species from that listing. Most gardens have links so you can e-mail and
find out what their collections are.
The AHS encourages their display gardens to open to all who are interested
in visiting.
For that matter, my garden is registered in Zone 4, Old Country Gardens on
Long Island. I collect hosta, hemerocallis, sedum, pulmonaria, heuchera's,
nepeta's and more plants than I could even begin to list. A tour group of 50
is not a hassle for a display garden.
Good luck,
Melanie Vassallo
Garden Lecturer
