Re: Michigan Extension Service - Budget Cuts

Hey everyone...especially those in Michigan,

Our Governor is threatening to cut our Extension Service.
Not just some minor budget cuts, but enough ($26 Million)
to decimate and possibly destroy the whole program.

If you are a garden writer in Michigan, please consider
using your voice to help...immediately.  Rumor has it that
the cuts will be made very soon!

Our state couldn't have paid enough workers to help with
some of our recent crisis like West Nile, Emerald Ash
Borer and Gypsy Moth.  The impact on education, health
and safety could be huge.

If you live outside of Michigan...any advice on helping to
retain our Extension Service?  Have other states faced
this problem recently?  What did you do?
