I'm knowledgeable enough to buy plants that are not in
bloom: however, here's something that I have never seen in
a garden center/nursery (not even once): next to a flat of
non-blooming plants, a *large* color photo of the plant in
full bloom. Laminated preferably. By large, I mean an 8" x
11" or larger print.
Yes, the little plant-tags (sometimes) have a picture of the
plant in bloom. But they do not have the impact that a
large color photo would. A picture of the plant nicely
planted in an appropriate setting (with other plants) would
be good too.
If I were in a position to advise garden center owners about
anything, this is one thing I would certainly advise them to
do.
