columns and photos of sample plants

Hi C. L.
I don't receive many sample plants. The few that I receive are planted in
the best conditions I can provide. Some of them become stars in my garden or
in pots and I definitely photograph, research and write about them. Some
show up in my blog and some in my columns.

If the plants do not make it or are not strong, I don't write anything about
them or their source.

Between the blog and the column, I put up from six to 10 photos a week.
Whether I purchase the plant or receive it for trial I try to give the
source.

About annuals - I write about seeds, seed sources and the results of my
attempts, including the germination rate, survival rate, etc. Renee is
generous with seeds for garden writers but the other companies have not
been. I still write about the good ones, generosity not withstanding.

Hope this helps with your research.
