I believe the winter garden is the real garden's backbone.
If a garden maintains form at that time of year, it is worthy of visitation
in the other seasons when color easily hides a gardens' flaws.
The approach for an off-season Flower Show
tour could focus on Structure and Planning, not just color and plant
identification.
I agree that Chris Woods may well offer a private lecture
and tour and it would certainly be worth asking.
Longwood may also offer an update on future plans and
recent additions ( such as the Penn's Woods project).
The orchid society, etc. may be another resource for the
tour group. Let's get creative with our thinking.
