Doreen,

The most frequently asked questions I get re: houseplants/tropicals are:

1)    Why hasn't my ____ bloomed? (usually not enough light)
2)    What is this sticky stuff on my ____'s leaves?  (usually honeydew)

3)    There are ants on my plant.  Is that a problem?  (probably,
because they usually indicate the presence of scale or mealybug)
4)    Why is my plant turning brown leaf by leaf and slowly
dying?          (usually too much water)

A good-sized chunk of my work is making housecalls for people with
plants in distress; some are salvageable, some are not.
