Fred Roberts, the director of Longwood Gardens, has been an active member of GWAA for many years and is very approachable. Any GWAA member visiting the area should call Fred direct and he will make sure you have a wonderful experience at Longwood.

Donna, I went with a group of horticulture students and faculty types from
UMass / Amherst to the Philly show and to Longwood Gardens a few years back.
I think one long day at the show, as terrific as it is, would be enough
for even the most dedicated gardener Longwood Gardens was absolutely fine with
the early bulbs in flower, though a bit cold. There are also the very
interesting greenhouse and conservatory displays. If you contact their
Continuing Education Department, it's possible a fascinating behind-the-scenes
tour could be arranged. Sorry, I can't suggest anyone. The one person in
Continuing Ed. there was promoted to something else. Also, the Longwood
cafeteria serves excellent food. Winterthur, just down the road from
Longwood, also has, I'm told, a terrific spring-bulb display. Again, it
might be possible to convince one of their horticulturists to present an
insiders view. Here, there would also be the museum display s and
exhibits to peruse. Both of these places have web sites. Hope this
helps. ============================================================ You have been selected to get a 1000 Free AwardMiles from Topica. The process takes less than 30 seconds...
